UX ResearcheR, Data Analyst, and Health equity Advocate

About Me

Hi, my name is Genesis! I am a highly adept researcher in the health technology, public health, and clinical research fields. My unique career experience and training cultivated a passion for research that can produce meaningful differences in people’s health and livelihoods.

My PAst

As a Data Analyst, I investigated and analyzed occupational health hazards and risk perceptions among a cohort of healthcare workers in San Francisco, and uncovered insights to suggest actionable recommendations that improve workplace safety and reduce disparities in health outcomes among participants.

As a UX Researcher for the Social Impact Collective team, I conducted user research activities to understand user behaviors and motivations. I translated findings into design features for a nascent platform that connects social enterprises and their needs with graduate students and professionals, increasing users’ ability to network and access opportunities.

In my most recent hybrid role as a UX Researcher and Research Operations Analyst, I worked on a digital mental health study to onboard and follow up with 600 participants over a 6 month period. I conducted usability assessments and reduced technical issues to understand user needs, prevent study drop-off, and support participants through their mental health journeys while maximizing data collection.

MY NOW

I hope to synthesize the expertise developed from all of my past roles into a UX Researcher role. I believe my background in quantitative and qualitative research, data analytics, and user needs identification, have prepared me to excel as a uniquely qualified UX Researcher

My ability to translate complex data into actionable insights has given me the skills needed to design, deliver, and communicate solutions that align with the goals of end-users and stakeholders alike.

Particularly, in my next role, I hope to apply my skills to a health technology role, working towards crafting products and experiences that help people navigate their health journeys.

OTHER interests

Outside of work, I like to cook, run, play my guitar, and road trip to national parks. Mt. Rainier, Grand Teton, and Yosemite are my top 3 favorite parks that I have visited thus far. When I’m not exploring, I love slow weekends learning a new recipe while listening to old-school artists or teaching myself a new song on my guitar. In case it isn’t obvious, I thrive in hobbies that keep me attuned to my creative capabilities!

2025

As a UX Researcher, I conducted user research and synthesized findings into product recommendations for the Impact Collective. My client used key findings for their business pitch in the UC Berkeley Big Ideas Competition, resulting in becoming a finalist and securing $7000 in funding to launch the platform.

As a Data Analyst, I spearheaded an occupational risk factor study to understand occupational health hazards and risk perceptions among a cohort of healthcare workers. I analyzed results into actionable insights and communicated results to stakeholders, resulting in securing $1.5 million in grants for the consequent biomonitoring phase of the study.

As a hybrid UX Researcher and Research Operations Analyst, I worked with my team to onboard and follow up with 600 participants for a digital mental health longitudinal study. I successfully onboarded 210 participants and executed 524 follow-up sessions to ensure high retention and data collection through a 6 month period.
